This committee will look for ways to add/layer new opportunities for our kids to be exposed to creative expression. Committee will synthesize existing practices and work with teachers and staff to implement new creative projects, installations, etc. Coordinate submission of work to the TXPTA Reflections program.
Work with Lee administration and parents to promote safe bike riding to and from school.
Promote, collect and mail in all the Box Tops submitted by school supporters in exchange for cash for Lee.
Coordinate Lee’s after-school Chess Club on Thursdays in the Library
Help support teachers and staff by making copies, laminating and doing other tasks in the workroom.
Select and coordinate community service activities for Lee Students and families. Work with our sister school Widen Elementary.
This group of parents and caregivers will work closely with the school to promote understanding across racial, ethnic and cultural differences.
Budget and Finance Committee, and Financial Reconciliation Committee
Coordinate the PTA fundraising efforts among Lee families and corporate partners. Funds raised from the following efforts comprise Lee’s annual philanthropic success, including: Box Tops, Roadrunner Rally, Directory Ad Sales, Fun Run, Halloween Carnival, Lee Live, and merchandise (see individual committee listings for roster).
Coordinates recycling and waste management efforts at school including the Hallway Recycling Center, Party Packs at classroom events, etc.
Grade Level Coordinators facilitate communications between teachers and parents and help organize volunteers for grade specific activities like class parties, Geography Day and field trips.
Organize the late October carnival and haunted house including ticket sales, food vendors, candy and prizes, and games.
Gathers, archives, and summarizes materials from PTA and school activities in order to preserve and recognize work done in the past, to provide context for current projects, and to inform decisions for the future.
Provide food and gifts, as appropriate, to Lee teachers and staff in appreciation for all they do throughout the year.
Maintain and improve Lee’s landscaping and tree health, including coordinating several workdays throughout the year.
Organize and execute Lee’s annual spring Live Music, Community Fundraiser and Auction
Organize, compile, produce and print Lee’s annual kids art/poetry/writing publication.
Assist P.E. Teacher in organizing field day in April, including refreshments for athletes.
This is a group for parents and caregivers who have an interest in supporting and furthering the educational and social experience of kids at Lee Elementary with special needs.
Assist librarian in coordinating volunteers and other activities. Coordinate one Scholastic book sales events a year with proceeds benefiting the library.
Organizes and reunites lost items with their owners. View posts on Facebook.
Work with current administration and Executive Board Committee to highlight and present potential candidates for the PTA Executive Board. Duties take place prior to the spring vote on board members.
Coordinate, promote and run the annual “cash up front” fundraiser at the start of school.
Liaison with Principal Hewlett. Coordinate meetings and volunteers to run (2–3 per semester) campus improvement days. Recruit members to help coordinate with other committees on collaborative activities (Carnival, Noche Latina, etc.). Coordinate social events with other parents.
Work with Lee’s Science teachers to coordinate the science fair activities including recruiting judges, scheduling volunteers, acquiring ribbons, and running the event. Science Fair rules and guidelines.
Oversee, update and produce Lee’s online and printed directory including data collection, advertising, layout, marketing, and distribution. Engage in social media.

The World Voices Committee mission is to help all international families integrate into our Russell Lee community. Russell Lee embraces cultural diversity and in doing so we want to find more ways to share our international families culture! Please contact the committee chair if you’re interested in volunteering. If you speak another language, we are always looking for translators to update our welcome package for international students/parents.
New to Lee for 2018 this LGBTQIA+ support group is still building a plan of work for the year and recruiting a chair.
