Empower and inspire your children to live generously by participating in some volunteer opportunities for Lee students and their families. Check back often to see what project we have going on.
Here are some great ideas on how you and your children can make a difference in our community:
- Holiday Giving and Volunteering – specific ideas from Little Helping Hands
- Sign up to volunteer any time of year using the calendar on the Little Helping Hands website.
- Subscribe to the Doing Good Together newsletter or “like” their Facebook page to find simple service ideas, kindness-themed book suggestions and pointers for starting discussions with children about specific social issues.
After assessing the school’s needs, labeled boxes were placed in each grades’ area and each grade contributed. The food was delivered on Wednesday, Nov. 17.
This month was SOCKTOBER and we had a school-wide sock drive to help homeless people nearby prepare for winter. Our goal was to collect 500 pairs of socks to donate, which we exceeded! We will be donating 526 pairs of socks to the Austin Homeless Task Force to be handed out with sandwiches in late November.
If you would like to help hand out the sandwiches and socks (with or without your kids), contact Susie Roselle for info on where and when to meet.
Check back soon for a final update on Socktober and thank you for your generosity!
