Roadrunner Rundown – SELebration Week!

February 13, 2020

Roadrunner Families,
This week’s newsletter is coming to you early to remind everyone that there will be no school tomorrow on Valentine’s Day and Monday, February 17th, as our staff participates in important professional development and we hold our spring conferences. This year, we are working to expand our feedback about student progress by holding a spring conference for all of our Roadrunners. We will see everyone back at school on Tuesday, February 18th after the long President’s Day Weekend.

In addition to Lee Live, which will be on Saturday, March 7th, we have a number of fun fundraising opportunities scheduled with some of our local businesses and community partners. For anyone looking for a last minute Valentine’s Day gift, Kendra Scott will be donating 25% of all purchases at their Lamar location today. Then next week, Snooze Eatery will be lending a hand with 100% of sales of the Pancake of the Day pancakes sold Feb 19th-25th going toward our campus community gardens! We will be sharing more information soon about additional opportunities to support important initiatives at our school, including a collaboration with Homeslice Pizzeria. In the meantime, please get in on some of these high impact fundraisers and get your tickets to Lee Live today!

Next week we are SELebrating all things social and emotional learning at our school! There will be fun dress up days that highlight an SEL skill and on Tuesday the Great Kindness Challenge Checklist will go home, so that we can see how many acts of kindness we can perform during the week. On Thursday, we will host our annual SEL Night, featuring SELebration, our fantastic 1st Grade Program celebrating the benefits of social and emotional learning through song, dance and musical expression. We hope to see you there!

Have a wonderful long weekend,

John Hewlett
