Roadrunner Rundown – Summer Camp Fair

February 6, 2020

Roadrunner Families,
This newsletter is coming to you early to remind everyone about The PTA Summer Camp Fair that is taking place this evening from 4:30-6:30 in the Lee gymnasium. A panel of more than a dozen vendors will be on hand to discuss a variety of summer offerings for your kids. All are invited come out and beat the summer planning rush. Thank you to our After-school Enrichment Coordinator, Amy Woiwode for organizing this helpful event for our families.

Thank you to everyone who helped us appreciate our outstanding counselor, Leah Gilbert. It has been a great Counselor Appreciation Week and we thank you for all the support. I also want to remind everyone that we will be holding our monthly PTA meeting next Tuesday in the library immediately after school. We will be discussing our Eco-Schools initiative, planning for next year by electing the PTA Nominating Committee who will seek out interested parties to serve in the PTA, and sharing important information about our biggest fundraiser of the year, Lee Live. We hope you will join us for this meeting.

Speaking of Lee Live, we have confirmed an amazing venue for this year’s event, which will be taking place on Saturday, March 7th. We are extremely excited to announce that one my favorite bands, White Denim will be playing this year’s Lee Live! This year we will be celebrating our school and raising important funds for so many of the amazing things that happen at our school at Soundcheck in downtown Austin. Tickets are available now, so get them while you can!

Lastly, I want to remind everyone that there will be no school on Valentine’s Day, Friday February 14th and Monday, February 17th as our staff participates in important professional development and holding spring conferences. This year we are working to expand our feedback about student progress by holding a spring conference for all of our Roadrunners. We will see everyone back at school on Tuesday, February 18th after the long President’s Day Weekend.

Have a wonderful weekend,

John Hewlett
