I want to start by thanking everyone for their patience and assistance as we worked to address the weather safety concerns on Friday afternoon. We place a very high priority on the safety of all students and were able to get everyone picked up and home safely in advance of the anticipated storms. The collaborative approach was greatly appreciated and we will continue to use a variety of ways to keep you aware of any safety concerns.
January is a busy month with a number of important events for our Roadrunners. This coming week we will hold our monthly PTA Meeting in the library on Tuesday evening at 7 pm. We will not have school on Monday, January 20th in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. That Friday, the 24th, we will hold our much anticipated Geography Day, where we highlight the cultures of different countries from around the world. Then on Tuesday, January 28th we will hold our Celebration of Science, highlighting the various scientific interests and experiments conducted by our Roadrunners.
Lastly, we are excited to share the latest edition of Lee Creates, our student arts and literature magazine. This winter edition is being released in a digital format. We will have a print edition that is curated by our 6th Grade Leaders later in the year. More information about how to submit for the next edition is attached. Congratulations to all of Roadrunners who participated and a very special thanks to Melissa Miller, Karl Monger, Jenny Day, and Elisabeth Wilborn for putting together this Lee Creates!
Have a wonderful week,
Principal – Russell Lee Elementary School
