This newsletter is coming to you early this week to remind you about our PTA sponsored panel discussion this evening – “How To Talk To Your Children About Disabilities” moderated by Allan Cole, former PTA President and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the UT School of Social Work. The panel begins at 6:00 pm and will feature parents, educators and advocates. Childcare will be provided and we hope you will join us tonight.
Tomorrow we will have our annual Campus Camp Out on the grounds of our school. This family event begins at 6:00 pm and will feature s’mores and a bedtime story being read to the chickens at 7:30 pm. All Roadrunners need to be supervised as this is not a drop off event. All are welcome to attend, even if you don’t want to spend the night. We look forward to continuing this community tradition.
This weekend we will host our first Science Fair Saturday in the library 12:00 to 2:00 pm. As I shared before the break, we will be debuting our new Celebration of Science and are excited to get the ball rolling on some amazing experiments and science based projects. On Tuesday morning we will hold our monthly PTA meeting to discuss a number of important topics. We hope to see you there.
Lastly, I want to remind everyone that the start of our winter break is two weeks away from today. Students will not have school beginning on Friday, December 20th. Our Roadrunners return to Russell Lee Elementary on Wednesday, January 8th after our staff participates in two days of important professional development.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Principal – Russell Lee Elementary School
