Roadrunner Rundown – Happy Thanksgiving

November 23, 2019

Roadrunner Families,
I am so proud of all of our Roadrunners for their performance yesterday in our Fun Run. While it didn’t rain much, the weather wasn’t ideal, but that didn’t slow anybody down. When a classmate fell, they stopped to help them up. When someone needed encouragement in the final stretch, fellow Roadrunners lifted their spirits and cheered them across the finish line. It was a proud day and I’d like to thank Coach Reyes, Ms. Brown and all of our 6th Graders who assisted throughout the day. Special thanks to Adrienne Dula who did an outstanding job of organizing and running the event and Dawn McElvain and Justin Wendling for all of their insights and assistance. Thanks to Jessica Shaw and Medwyn Price for helping to spread the word about this important fundraiser that runs through the Thanksgiving break. If you haven’t already signed up your Roadrunner to help support our school, you can do so here.

As I shared previously, we will be piloting a new approach to the annual Science Fair this year. Our new Celebration of Science is intended to draw on the variety of scientific interests of our Roadrunners. An information sheet is attached to this newsletter with more details. We are excited about these new learning options at our school.

I want to wish all of you a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday. As I sit down with my family this Thursday, one of the things I am most thankful for is the opportunity to work with all of your students and be a part of this supportive school community.

Have a wonderful holiday,

John Hewlett
