This Rundown is being sent out early this week as a reminder of the Open House taking place this evening for Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades. This Autumn Open House is an opportunity to check in with the early grade level teachers to see student work and the things they are studying this semester. The Open House is from 6:00 until 7:00 and occurs in conjunction with our 6th Grade Pizza Sale, which starts at 5:00 on the blacktop area. The evening will end with our 6th graders presenting their grade level program – Celebrate Freedom in the auditorium at 7:00. Whether you have a student at the lower grade levels or not, we hope you will come out to enjoy the fall weather and support our outstanding 6th Grade Leaders.
Thank you to everyone who came out for our fun and festive Loteria Night. It was a great turn out for what will surely become an annual tradition for our Correcaminos. Thank you to Madi Jones, Jessica Shaw, Caitlin Sileo, Paola Bueche, Medwyn Price and everyone who made this such a fun event. I also want to thank everyone for your kind wishes and generosity on Principal’s Day this week. Caitlin and I feel incredibly fortunate to work within such a supportive school community. Thank you all very much!
Next Tuesday afternoon we will hold our second CAC meeting of the year to review elements of our Campus Improvement Plan. Then on Friday, it is time to celebrate! This year’s Fall Carnival and Birthday Celebration will feature bouncy houses, our annual costume contest and a first ever Haunted Trail for those who want a little fright in their night. Admission to the carnival is free and we will be celebrating the eightieth birthday of Lee Elementary School as part of this annual homecoming event. We hope to see all of you for what will be a spooktacular night of fun for Roadrunners of all ages.
Lastly, I want to share the following information about the Austin ISD Central Texas Dyslexia Conference:
