Our sight words so far are Up, it, I, A, go, at, to, am, me, see, can, is, like, the, red, blue, yellow, green, and orange, brown. This week was a review week. No new words were added.

We used balance scales to do a weight investigation.
Science – Manning
We learned that one way to describe matter is by shape. We learned that a 2-D shape is something you can’t pick up, like a picture in a book. A 3-D shape is a shape you can pick up, like a cone, sphere, cube, and prism.
Spanish – Stanfield
To celebrate Fall we learned the word calabaza or pumpkin. We learned a fun song about La calabaza and made a little booklet about word that describe a calabaza. We learned the words flaca – skinny, grande – big, chica – small, anaranjada – orange, and grande – gorda – fat.
Next week we will set up an ofrenda or alter for The Day or the Dead or El Dia De Los Muertes. If your child would like to bring a photo of a loved one or pet who has passed away, we will place it on the table in their honor.
Friday, November 9th is Geography Day. There will be opportunities for parents to help with setting up and cleaning up, buying, cooking, and serving food, and various other jobs. Be on the look out for an email about ways you can help.
