It’s Been a Busy Week!
We are working hard on correct pencil grip and good writing posture. For many children this is very frustrating as they have never been shown correct grip and have developed poor habits. You can help them at home by prompting them to use the correct grip. This grip applies to all writing implements. We practiced the “corner start” letters M,N,H,and L.
Our sight words so far include I, can, see, my, and the color words red, blue, and green.
One of our lovely parents,, Ashley Aarons, Emily’s mom, suggested that we put the tune to the weekly color songs in the newsletter. Brilliant! Thank you, Ashley!
Red – “Are you Sleeping?”
Blue – “The Farmer in the Dell”
Green – “Row, Row, Row Your Boat”
In science we practiced using our sense of smell. We went tested four different scents with our noses.
This week we explores our sense of hearing. We went on a hearing walk and learned that our ears are “sound catchers.”
After reviewing last week’s lesson, we learned the following school words or palabras;
La Esquela – school
El papel – paper
El bano – bathroom
El Lapis – pencil
La silla – chair
El libro – book
La mesa – table
Los crayones – crayons
Las tijeras – scissors
Los marcadores – markers
El pegamento – glue
Thank you so much to all of the parents who came to Parent Forum. We were able to share so much important information and hopefully you came away feeling confident that your child is in a good place.
