Roadrunner Rundown – PTA Executive Board

April 6, 2018

Roadrunner Families,
On Tuesday our dream team of kindergarten teachers helped welcome next year’s incoming Roadrunners as part of our annual Kinder Round Up. I want to congratulate the three of them on doing such a wonderful job. Congratulations also to our current Kindergarteners, who did an absolutely amazing job in their Dinosaur Performances.

Kinder Round Up is always very helpful in assessing the number of incoming students when trying to determine availability for transfers. We are continuing to work with the associate superintendent’s office to get transfer requests approved, despite our frozen status. We will share additional information as soon as we have it.

Next Tuesday and Wednesday we will have the Reading and Math STAAR test for our 5th graders as well as Writing STAAR for our 4th graders. If you have a Roadrunner who will be testing, please make sure they get plenty of sleep ahead of time. Please remember that we cannot have lunch visitors on testing days. Thank you for your understanding.

We will have our Roadie Work Day on Saturday, April 21st from 9:00-12:00. Our work will include touching up our “Peace Path”, improving our track and field spaces, a mural project, planting new trees and as always, working with our chickens. We hope you will be able to join us as we work together to improve our school campus.

Lastly, I want to thank everyone who came out to our PTA Meeting on Thursday evening. There were a record setting number of members in attendance to elect the following stellar executive board to lead our PTA next year:

Vice President

Vice President of Fundraising

Vice President of Operations

Vice President of Membership

Vice President of Educational Enrichment

Congratulations to the newly elected board and thank you again to our Nominating Committee for all of their hard work. We appreciate everyone who participated in this important process. As I shared at the meeting, I will be collaborating with the associate superintendent’s office to distribute a school-wide survey to help recognize all the great things that go on at our school as well as identify areas where we can do better on behalf of our students.

Have a wonderful weekend,
