It’s Been a Busy Week
In language arts our vocabulary words were compete, hobby, and partner. Our sight words so far are be, like, am, can, I, a, see, and the along with the color words red, blue, green, yellow, orange, and black.
We are now working on lowercase letter formation. This week we practiced c,o,s, and v.
After reading the book Knuffle Bunny by Mo Willems we sequenced the events in the story and identified the characters and setting.
In math this week we played games which focused on the concept of more and fewer.
Science – Gonzales
We learned about light and heat. We learned that light travels very fast and that the sun is our largest source of light.
Science – Manning
The students learned that sound is a type of energy. Our ears are used to catch the sound vibrations.
Spanish – Stanfield
We continue to practice the numbers 1-10 and all colors. We also learned words associated with family – mama, papa, hermano, hermana, abuelo, y abuela. The children colored a booklet called Mi Familia . Ask your child about the Uno, dos, tres chocolate song -our new song for the week.
Amazon Wish List – Lee Kindergarten Wish List
Several people asked if we had an Amazon wish list so we have created one. Thank you ahead of time if you choose to donate. Please ask your child’s teacher if you have any questions.
Kinder Family Night at the Bookfair!
On Monday, October 16th, Mrs. Day, our librarian, will host a special night at the bookfair for families with a kindergarten student. Please come by and shop from 4:30 – 7:30. Ms. Stanfield will read a book at 4:30. Price for admission is 1 kindergartener. There will be pony rides from 5-7 in the parking lot behind the library.

- Please remember to place a change of clothes in your child’s backpack.
- Book fair is next week. Please don’t send money to school with your child. There will be opportunities for you to purchase books after school and during Open House on Thursday.
- Next Wednesday is Unity Day. Please try to dress your child in orange.
