It’s Been a Busy Week
Our sight word this week was to. So far we have learned the words like, am, can, I, a, see, go, to and the along with the color words red, blue, green, yellow, and orange. For handwriting we reviewed all uppercase letters.
In math we continued to work on composing and decomposing numbers 6-10 by playing a game called “Match Me”.
Spanish – Stanfield
We reviewed numbers 1-10 and the colors. We played a game called “Last Person Standing” where we used Uno cards to recognize colors and numbers.
Science – Manning
This week we discovered properties of matter by texture, shape, color, size, and mass.
Science – Gonzales
We identified and described textures using real objects. We found rough, smooth, hard, soft, and bumpy items and sorted them.
Social Emotional Learning
What is your child learning?
Your child is learning how to pay attention to people’s faces and bodies to figure out how they are feeling.
Why is this important?
Children who can identify feelings tend to get along better with others and do better in school than those who can’t.
We had to postpone meeting our Kinder Buddies for a week as the 6th graders had other engagements. We will begin next week so look for practice readers to come home with your child once a week.
