Congratulations to our third graders on a fantastic Hawaii Program! They did an outstanding job and I would like to thank their grade level teachers for all of their hard work that has been going on since the first weeks of school. Thanks also to our Special Areas Team, Ms. Kennedy who produced the new set design,Coach Huff who worked on new dance choreography and Ms. Stephens who oversaw some creative new updates and even learned to play the ukulele for this program!
Our Roadrunner Rally is in full swing and we are on our way to meeting this year’s fundraising goal. Any donation amount is greatly appreciated as we work toward funding many of our important programs and positions that have a direct impact on student learning. Next week I will be spinning some tunes as DJ Roadrunner for all of our grade levels during lunch time. Please help us reach our fundraising goal.
As a reminder, if a student is not in the classroom when the bell rings (7:45) they are marked tardy by the teacher until 8:15 am. After 8:15 am student(s) must stop by the office to sign in for a tardy slip. If a student is absent a signed note must be sent to the attendance office within two days of returning to school. We are also asking that items are dropped off in the office or student messages are called in to the office in emergency situations only so that our office team can focus on school related issues.
I want to introduce our Lee Elementary Healthcare Team. Jackie Jordan is our School Health Assistant and Tori McFadden is our Registered School Nurse. We are very fortunate to have a member of healthcare team here throughout the week. Please help us welcome them to Russell Lee Elementary School.
Lastly, Picture Day is next Wednesday, October 4th. All students will have their pictures taken whether they want purchase photo packages or not. Financial assistance is available for anyone interested. For more information about being a recipient or a donor, please contact Leah.Gilbert@Austinisd.org. Retakes will be November 29th and class photos will take place in the spring.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Russell Lee Elementary School
