I wanted to let you know about some important Math items in your child’s binder today. This week we took the Released STAAR Math test. It is the test that was given to last year’s 4th graders, so it is a very good measure of how your child will do on the actual test on Monday, May 8. The test should be in their homework folder with the questions they missed and concepts that they covered. We went over some of the questions in class today, but it would be great if you could look at it with them and talk about why they missed each question. Also in their homework folder is a packet of Math problems that your child and I picked out especially for them as practice based on the problems they missed. For homework next week, students are to complete 4 pages single-sided. Many of them are bringing home more pages than this. Each extra page done will earn them $50 in classroom money. Please check over the homework pages with them as I would not be able to check them before the STAAR test. If they have questions about some of the problems have them come and ask me about them.
Thanks for your help with these last preparations for the Math STAAR test!
